Egdon Resources has been active in southern England since 1997 drilling its first exploration well – West Compton-1 in the Wessex Basin in 200. The Waddock Cross discovery was appraised by Egdon in 2004 and 2005, and developed in 2013. This challenging field with a thin oil zone and water drive holds over 30 million barrels of oil in place and is currently shut in whilst we evaluate future development options. Elsewhere in the Wessex Basin we are finalising interpretation of 3D seismic to identify potential drilling locations.
In the Weald Basin Egdon has the shut-in non-operated mature Avington oil field where a new company is set to take over operatorship from IGas and the review production optimisation techniques.
