  Shell acquired a 70% working interest in Licences P1929 and P2304, and Operatorship of the licences in 2020 ERUK will retain a 30% non-operated interest in the Licences 3D seismic planned in H1 2021

Egdon Resources has been active in exploration and production in the Cleveland Basin in the North East since 2000 and has drilled several exploration wells and developed the Kirkleatham gas field on PEDL068.  Planned activity on our current licences includes drilling an exploration well on the Resolution prospect in P1929  offshore  and further drilling at Kirkleatham. Under the Third Energy operated 14th Round awards activity will include potential appraisal of the Cloughton Tight Gas field and exploration of the new Tees licence surrounding Kirkleatham.

Possible fracking of the KM-8 tight gas discovery now the 2019 Fracking Moratorium is lifted, may open up an exciting new play in the region, with read through to Cloughton.

Offshore, our non-operated Ceres gas field continues to produce late field life with Primary production having resumed in October 2018. Following an extensive farm-out process,  on 21 January 2020 we announced the signature of a Farm-In Agreement with Shell U.K. Limited in relation to UK offshore licences P1929 and P2304 which contain the Resolution and Endeavour gas discoveries respectively. In August 2020 Shell U.K. Limited acquired a 70% working interest in Licences P1929 and P2304, and Operatorship of the licences.

In January 2021 Shell, the operator of offshore licences P1929 and P2304, advised Egdon that the marine 3D seismic survey, planned over the Resolution and Endeavour gas discoveries was anticipated to be acquired in February 2022 rather than Q1 2021.  

Egdon subsidiary, Egdon Resources U.K. Limited currently holds a 30% non-operated interest in both licences. 

In April 2022 Shell U.K. Limited informed Egdon and the North Sea Transition Authority (“NSTA”) of its intention to withdraw from licences P1929 and P2304 containing the Resolution and Endeavour gas discoveries.

Egdon will now consider its options, including its ongoing commitment to the licences the potential for funding the forward work programme including a new farm-out] and will discuss these options with the NSTA.  We will update shareholders once our preferred option and the NSTA position is known.
